This is probably a no-brainer for the commercial integrators who are reading this, but there needs to be a way to specify whether to calculate the taxes based on unit price or unit cost.
As commercial integrators know, USE TAX is calculated based on the product’s cost, while SALES TAX is based on the product’s price. There is no way to set this in the current version of the software and it is a HUGE pain in the butt.
Basically, giving us expanded choices in the MISC ITEMS could allow this and is probably the easiest way to approach it. I’d love to have a calculation system in there that would allow me to grab any data field from the project and do math to it. AND have it automatically recalculate if I change something in the project.
Add/Remove/change a product in the project? No Problem! The MISC ITEMS should be recalculated automatically at that point. Better yet, have a checkbox that says “Recalculate Automatically (Yes/No)?” and let it run based on that.
