When we did the conversion to SIX we were told there may be broken paths to products and/or labor items. We can re-map products just fine. However we are being told that ALL labor items will have to be recreated through d-tools to quickbooks which is going to generate duplicate items in quickbooks and throw off our quickbook reports. You cannot re-map labor?? There has to be a way to link our existing quickbooks items to the d-tools items that ported over with broken paths. Any suggestions would be a great help.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

I think you are talking of the ability to map labor items to QuickBooks items.

Currently SIX always exports labor items and labor associated to products in the Qb Item format “Labor:Phase:Subphase”. You can customize this format with QuickBooks Settings with these two settings –
    1. Labor Item
    2. Labor Item Format

    Read more here – http://d-tools.mindtouch.us/SIX_Guide/005_Setup/002_Control_Panel/005_QuickBooks/001_QuickBooks_Settings

I think what you are requesting does not apply to labor associated to products.
You would like to map labor items to existing QB Items. This ability is not part of SIX yet.
We have added a request #8493 for this request.
It will not make the current service pack – we will try and make it in the next one.

The feature will basically have an additional setting to allow you to map labor items to QB items (like Products) and not follow the phase model for labor items. If turned on then labor items will not use the phase model and you will be allowed to map to qb items. Labor associated to products will always use the phase model.
