Is it possible to edit this?
Currently wiring seems to be the biggest issue as when it is brought into Visio it has a font size of 4.5.
Most other items go into Visio with an 8 point fontMarch 31, 2015 at 9:31 pm #8835
Hi, Need some more detail. Importing AutoCAD into Visio?April 1, 2015 at 11:59 am #8837
The issue is happening going from Dtools into VisioApril 1, 2015 at 6:02 pm #8839
This is also happening when drawings are exported from Visio into AutoCAD
Everything is very smallApril 1, 2015 at 7:23 pm #8840
Hi, sorry, I’m still confused. I can help but I need more information. Can you explain exactly what the issue is step by step? Or start a case and note that you are working with Adam on this issue. It will get over to me. Link to support here: http://d-tools.com/open-a-support-ticket/

Step by step
1. Project open in Dtools
2. Drag wiring (HDMI, VGA,etc) into Visio
When you do this the font size is 4.5
If you drag anything other than wire into Visio it has a font size of 8April 1, 2015 at 7:57 pm #8842
Great, couple of questions:
1; Finish wire or rough wire?
2: what page size are you working with?
3: What scale are you working with?
4: What page are you working on; Plan, schematic, elevation, line?April 1, 2015 at 8:19 pm #8843
1. Finish wire or rough doesn’t seem to make a difference
3. 3/8’= 1′
4. Schematic viewApril 1, 2015 at 8:43 pm #8844
The issue is the font size will change based on the scale of the drawing. Smaller scale = smaller font. This is by design and all D-Tools/Visio shapes have font size scaling like this. The elevation shapes take into account the height of the object as well. The easiest way to deal with this is to change the scale of the drawing. 1/2″ to 1′ scale will give you a six point font on finish wires. If you run out of room on your page you can change to a larger page and use the Visio Print Setup commands to adjust or fit to the printed page size. This is fine on a schematic because that is a non scaled drawing however if you use those print setup commands on the plan page you will lose scale on a printed drawing. That means that you can’t put a ruler on a printed plan and get an accurate measurement.
Or, if you want a much simpler way of doing this both the finish and the rough wires have a shape data UI for Text Size Factor. Adjust to any practical size with the dropdown. I forgot about that feature. to get to the shape data UI (very useful on all shapes) right click on the shape chose Data>>Shape Data. The Shape Data UI will pop up on the right of the screen.
What is the specific AutoCAD issue?
Hope that helps,

Our workflow for AutoCAD isn’t straight into AutoCAD, currently we save a Visio drawing as a .dwg and than open it in AutoCAD.
This process was working perfectly fine until we upgraded to the new version on Dtools 2015.
Now I am having an issue where when I open the .dwg that was created by Visio it is extremely small, previously a matrix switcher was ~120 units in height, now the entire drawing is less than 40 units in height.
To throw a monkey wrench into the problem I am not the only one with this workflow but so far I am the only one with this issue.
I can send files or screen shots if it would help.April 2, 2015 at 5:16 pm #8847
Hi, best to open a case here and note that you are working with Adam on this issue. It will get forwarded over to me. http://d-tools.com/open-a-support-ticket/April 2, 2015 at 5:44 pm #8848
Ticket # 27688 was just created by our IT departmentApril 22, 2015 at 6:11 pm #8836
I am experiencing the same issue.
1. Open a Visio Drawing
2. Drag a wire/cable into Visio window and the text is 4.5 instead of 8.April 22, 2015 at 7:58 pm #8868
There is a UI to change the font size in the Shape Data UI. More info here: http://www.d-toolsforum.com/index.php/forum/13-shapes/2689-change-the-font-size-when-importing-into-visio?start=6#3009
Let me know how that works for you.

This works well. Is there a way to assign a particular shape to all of the bulk cable in the database? i.e. Select the entire wire/cable category and assign the “Bulk Wire 2” shape?
